This is well-written for a middle-grade non-fiction novel. It is very informative without being boring. It reads a bit like a thriller and makes it fun to read the history of the Mona Lisa. On an August day in Paris, a guard at The Louve notices something wrong. Where the Mona Lisa should be there is nothing but empty glass. The painting is assumed to be in a different area of the museum being photographed. After asking around the museum, the guard discovered that it was not in the building and had been stolen.
