I honestly did not intend to write about books dealing with Ancient Egypt two weeks in a row! But, I loved this book and had to mention it. It is both well-written and well-researched. History, adventure, and mystery are blended well to create an engaging read. The story takes place in Egypt, in 1936, and in New York City, in 1978. When Charlotte Cross was just a student and given the opportunity to work on an archaeological dig, she made a discovery that shaped the rest of her life. Now working in the Met’s Department of Egyptian Art, a piece of her history resurfaces before the Met Gala. On the night of the Gala, a different collection piece is stolen. Charlotte will need to team up with Annie Jenkins, a new hire, to connect all the pieces from the past and the present.
