I don’t often dive into horror, but I heard about this book at a webinar I attended, and thought, why not? I quite enjoyed the book, even though it was not what I expected. Jones weaves the present into the past so well that when a diary from 1912 is discovered, you forget that the book begins in 2012. Written within its pages is a revenge story told to a Lutheran pastor by a Blackfeet Indian named Good Stab. I don’t want to say much more than that because I feel it will take away from the story. I will say that if you struggle with reading about violence and gore, this may not be the book for you.
