5 Stars

“Braiding Sweetgrass” was the book club book for this month, and we all loved it. It’s very informative, told through her personal stories and the stories she’s heard, which keep it enjoyable and moving forward. It also gives you plenty to reflect on. As a botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Robin has been taught to ask questions using science, and that plants and animals are the world’s oldest teachers. By bringing these ideas together, she shows that to have a wider ecological consciousness, we need to acknowledge and celebrate the reciprocal relationship we have with the rest of the earth.
