All Iris Winnow wanted was for her life and family to hold together and make it through a war of the Gods. Fighting with a rival journalist for a promotion to columnist at a local paper leads her to a different journey of being a war correspondent. All the while, she’s been writing letters to her missing brother. She soon discovers that the letters in the bottom of her wardrobe have found their way to someone else and that someone has given a reply. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and look forward to reading the second book. I loved the concept of her writing letters to her brother, but he’s not the one who gets them.
