I have always had a fascination with Ancient Egypt. Whenever I come across a book based in or around Egypt, I always want to check it out. “What the River Knows” has some mixed reviews, but I enjoyed it. I liked how she took familiar people and events from Ancient Egypt and added a touch of magic; nothing too crazy. Inez Olivera has always longed to travel to Egypt with her parents on one of their digs. When Inez receives a message about their mysterious death, she feels she has no choice but to leave for Cairo and discover the truth. Especially when, upon her arrival, things may not be as she assumed.
