I love the “How to Train Your Dragon” movies so I wanted to give the book a try. There are quite a few differences between the two, but you can see where the movie ideas came from. I did enjoy the book despite the differences. I would recommend trying the series if you or your kids liked the movies. Hiccup and the other Vikings his age must pass a Dragon Initiation to become full members of the tribe. Hiccup is worried that he won’t pass and will be banished. But when the Island of Berk is threatened, Hiccup will have to forget about failing and find a way to save everyone.
